Filipino Heritage Month

This week, SLCS celebrates two important milestones in our alternative classes

The Filipino PT (Performance Task) – oral presentation of different Filipino poems for grade school students.

The SLCS Pre School Show and Tell, featuring different components of our Filipino heritage.

As the young Filipinos are truly the hope of our motherland, let us work hand in hand to prepare our SLCS students, the future leaders and enablers of our country.

Due to the scheduled maintenance of internet providers, to ensure optimal internet access of teachers and students during tests, and upon recommendation of the technical team of DIWA GENYO, pls take note of the following schedule adjustments:

September 28-30 (Mon-Wed)
cancellation of MLE and synchronous classes; pls use this time to study for the MLE and see uploads in the Google classroom

MLE Sept will be moved to:

FIRST DAY OF TEST for Nursery, Junior Kinder, Senior Kinder and Grade 1-6 students;

October 2 (Fri)
SECOND DAY OF TEST for Junior Kinder, Senior Kinder and Grade 1-6 students; LAST DAY of test for Nursery students

October 3 (Sat)
THIRD DAY OF TEST for Junior Kinder, Senior Kinder and Grade 1-6 students

October 5 (Mon)
FOURTH DAY OF TEST for Grade 1-6 students
Regular class for Pre School students

*Due to the schedule adjustment, there will be NO achievement holiday after the MLE to ensure appropriate academic time for lessons intended for the month of October

*Enrolled students will be given their adviser and detailed schedule for this school year
*Students will receive a link for the classroom orientation and DRY RUN (students will meet their adviser, classmates, will be oriented about links in classes, use of Google Classroom, where to find the resources, how to answer, how to submit, etc)

For the safety of everyone, requested documents (ex: certificate of enrollment, certificate of good moral for grade 6 students) will be released via email.
Please follow the steps below.

Recognition and Graduation Day

1. Recognition Day and Graduation for SY 2019-2020 will be scheduled based on the recommendation of our government (via IATF) when such activities will be possible.

Note: SLCS will not resort to online commencement exercises since it is important for students to get their actual certificates/medals/diploma and participate in an actual graduation march, as an important milestone of their lives.

Opening of Classes

Given the current health situation of the country, the SLCS families’ safety remains our TOP priority. In the recent study, kids ages 19 years old and below are the top “carriers” of the COVID 19 virus.
However, making children stay at home for a long time WITHOUT any educational stimulation will also be NOT beneficial for them.
In SLCS, we strive to put our students’ learning FIRST and CONTINUOUSLY. While maintaining the same SLCS (1)learning philosophies, (2)methodologies, (3) understanding for multiple intelligences, (4)creative and collaborative learning, using the(5) SLCS CURRICULUM , our school will use TECHNOLOGY to ensure continuity of learning.

*August 3, 2020 (Monday)- Until cleared by our government, SLCS will use Online Learning /”Flexible” Learning as an alternative method to conduct classes, until actual group classes in the classroom will be allowed.
Online platforms and transition activities will be discussed to parents before the opening of classes.
